Another big mileage day and it took us through some of the ares that were in the conflict of the late 90's in Croatia and Serbia
Houses with walls bullet riddled, and the roads have warning signs that the are still infested with mines
There are villages which are surrounded by these signs and people are still walking into the areas to tend to a vegetable plotThere is also some very beautiful countryside and Croatia is definitely more affluent than Serbia
Good thing today was the country roads we did for 150 miles, gave a welcome break from the dull motorways which seem to be endless, unfortunately it did add a lot of hours (2.5) to the journey time
Another border crossing into Serbia and you are immediatley aware that there is not the money, like in Croatia
Secondly the motorway south of Belgrade (former Yugoslavia capital)is endless with no junctions on it, seriously 60 miles.
The GPS decided to tell me that it was 4.5 hours to the hotel in the middle of nowhere and we have 40 miles left on the route details. Oh my god, which is right
Crazy stuff
Our route directions brought us off the motorway, at a new junstion that did not exist and then it plotted us travelling 15 miles in the middle of nowhere across agricultural land
Big black clouds overhead and we just beat the rain storm and get the bikes in the underground garage
Oh well food time and i think i am not tired at the moment, hence me getting up to date with my Blog with free WiFi
Must be getting use to this mileage thingy, however my backside has other ideas on this matter
Till tomorrow then as long as i have free Wifi, which will hopefully be Greece and they take Euros
Yippee
1586 miles Despetovac, Serbia

Great updates...do keep 'em coming! And I'm reliably informed that you can get 'chamois cream' to ease saddle-sore discomfort...your cycling chum should probably have shared this little gem with you before you left! Try Vaseline: it should do the trick. Big hugs from all of us X
