It's My birthday

Well what would you normally do on your birthday, drive 420 miles over 8 hours across France, Germany and Austria to end up with it raining at 1000m and only 4 deg C.

Deep joy

Only a quick note, as for some strange reason we all feel quite tired and with another 400 miles to do tomorrow, it will be a welcome break to spend some time in the Spa's that are at our next hotel

Couple of quick mentions as we thought we Had our first casualty when the four of us Simon, Max, Robert and myself were making speed down Route 8 when Robert pulled over suddenly with complete engine stoppage. He was later picked up by Jeff the van man and brought to the hotel a further 250 miles later for his bike to be checked over for a suspected fuel pump problem
Embarrassingly for Robert it turned out that his fuel sender unit had stuck on half and he had simply ran out of fuel

BIG OOPS!

It was suggested to him that he might want to set his trip and fill up every 250 miles for safety. We will keep him under careful watch tomorrow

As i write this , Robert has nipped out to ensure that his tank is completey full!

Also we have our very own explorer (Charles), who creates his own routes so that he can go exploring as he happens to be passing. This usually involves him arriving some considerable time later and the group can only hope he has not got lost. Time will tell as he has been successful over the last two days

I need my sleep so i will wander up wooden hill to blanket fair, till tomorrow

Forecast is for warmer sunny weather, fingers crossed

771 miles Lermoos, Austria

  1. Daz, looks like they are breaking you in gently. 1000m + 4deg and I assume tarmac roads...... you'll look back and smirk in a few weeks time.... 3000m+(?), short of breath, a pile of boulders for a road and snowing, that's what we're looking forward too.

Hope you managed a dram and your birthday and keep the sticky side down, PB.
